At North Shore Acupuncture, I specialize in monthly tune-ups to keep one healthy and prevent disease and illness. One of the main scourge’s of modern society is stress and its consequences on our bodies. What Acupuncture therapies can achieve that has distinct nuances from other therapies is its ability to effect not only the superficial aspects of the body but, also at all constitutional levels as well. My treatments balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems which when in an imbalanced state can cause anxiety, depression, weight gain, high blood sugar, hypertension, sleep disturbance, headaches and many other health problems.
To understand the history of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its formulation was all in regards to our bodies having immense capabilities to correct if it can create. Health is the free unimpeded flow of circulation throughout the body and this allows all our cells to flourish and get the nutrients needed, removing toxins and clearing inflammation to stay robust and healthy. What can have detriment to this “free flow” of circulation is both emotional and physical pernicious influences. With an acupuncture tune-up, the effect is comparable to a reset/re balancing of ones systems and this achieves a release of physical and emotional stress through allowing free circulation so, the body can perform its miraculous wellness properties that are inherent to us all.
We understand the tune-up concept for our automobiles where; we do the general maintenance... air in the tires, checking the oil etc. I find this is the equivalent to what we do for our health; maintaining exercise, nutrition, rest/relaxation and taking vitamins. For the automobile one additional step is taking the car in for a tune-up to prevent major breakdowns. Similarly, on top of the personal maintenance to stay healthy an acupuncture tune-up takes another step not achievable from personal maintenance to help prevent the dreaded visits to hospitals.
Prevention is what an Acupuncture Tune-up can achieve once a month or, at the change of seasons; to assist and add to your general health routines. For more information or to book an appointment please call or text me, Dr. Craig Webb in North Vancouver at (604) 728-4325.
